Not much to write this time.
Wordpress has been updated to Version 2.3.1.
There was quite a few bugs fixed, but among them were:
- Tagging support for Windows Live Writer
Fixes for a login bug that affected those with a Blog Address different than
their WordPress Address
Faster taxonomy database queries, especially tag intersection queries
Link importer fixes
Oh and www.thesh17.com was moved to a new server recently. It really is a lot quicker now, so if you notice any problems. Post a comment here and let me know.

Microsoft released a press release about the Zune V2 the other day. The video above I saw on Zuneboards earlier and it reminded me about it.
A bigger harddrive is the main thing I’m excited about. They’re releasing a 80gb version that’s a little slimmer than a v1 Zune is right now.
If you look at the feature specs, it looks like you’ll be able to synchronize wirelessly now. Hopefully this means with a PC or through the Internet anywhere there’s a wi-fi hotspot. That’d be badass.
Zuneboards posted this picture:

I think I’m definitely going to sell my v1 Zune and buy the new 80gig version 2 when it comes out. I’m definitely not a fan of Microsoft or anything like that(even though I do tech support for them now) but I could at least store all of my music on that 80gb hdd unlike the 30gb one. And I just don’t like Ipods very much.
All the new features that are part of v2 will work with v1 Zunes as well. There’s going to be a firmware update soon to include all of those features, including wireless sync. So if you have a Zune already; get the firmware update, and you’ll be just as good as the v2 unless you want a bigger harddrive or slimmer looking Zune.
There’s also 4gb and 8gb flash models designed to rival the Ipod Nano basically. They’ll have the same features as the bigger models, including all the wireless features and fm radio.
Check out the video above to see the looks of the new Zune but here’s a glimpse of the flash models.

- I signed up for and started adding Text Link Ads to thesh17
- Installed the beer-me plugin.
- It’ll show a link at the bottom of every post to buy us beer. It’s better than asking for donations, right? A beer a day keeps thesh17.com running
- Signed up for the AdGridNetwork
- If it doesn’t bring any traffic to thesh17, I’ll probably remove it..
- It’s at the bottom of the sidebar. Yell at me if you don’t like it.
- DreamHost moved www.thesh17.com to a new host with less load so it shouldn’t take 5+ seconds to load the main page anymore.
- Our forums are getting filled with spam.
- I updated wordpress to 2.2 a few days ago.
- I changed a lot of things with the site’s design and code, but it’s still basically broke in anything other than firefox. I’ll give somebody a dollar to fix it.
- (edit)Fixed a few 404 errors with the category links and changed all of the category urls(not the tags)
- (edit)Changed the robots.txt and sitemap.xml files

Part of the post that wordpress screwed me out of, was this software updater I saw at Google Operating System from FileHippo.
It’s kind of like `emerge -nupDv world` or `apt-get upgrade` but for windows, where there is no central repository for software. You download the 108kb exe from filehippo and it’ll automatically scan your harddrive for software you have installed, send it to filehippo and then output a page similar to below showing you what software is out-dated with links where you should download the updated version.

This is only going to work with software that FileHippo knows about and can find, but it’s still pretty useful if you like keeping your system up to date.
The next best thing I know of for windows is Google’s Google Pack,
